HISTORY
ORIGIN AND EVOLUTION
Garage Vanderborght started in 1975 when Clement Vanderborght, father of current manager Jurgen Vanderborght, began a service point for cars, agricultural and horticultural machinery. At the age of 16, Jurgen joined his father on an apprenticeship contract and his vision was more focused on selling and servicing cars than on agricultural machinery.
However, in 1995, the family suffered a major setback when Jurgen’s father was struck by a protracted illness and, after fighting hard, he eventually succumbed to it. Jurgen was then faced with a difficult task: continuing his father’s life’s work at the age of 19 as an only child.
Jurgen did not give up and continued to work according to his own vision: car sales and service, a bodywork department and everything else that went with it became the essence of continuing his life’s work. He continued to invest steadfastly and work tirelessly towards his ultimate dream: a garage where everyone could go for all their needs from A to Z.
Three years later, they decided to modernise these buildings and a new building was constructed with the latest equipment as well as an integrated tyre centre to provide the best possible service. All this was achieved in a period of about 20 years. It is clear that we are always thinking ahead and moving forward with our life’s work.
TODAY
Today, in 2025, we are proud to say that we have around 250 stock vehicles from our four brands combined, both new and used, spread across our two branches.
Our customers can also always come to us for the latest cars to order, and we have an approved body shop for all brands. With our 25 replacement vehicles, delivery vans and free electric replacement bikes, every customer remains mobile at all times. Our large parts warehouse at both branches ensures smooth repairs. Our tyre centre, which always has around 1,000 tyres in stock, also has a storage facility for our customers’ summer and winter wheels. We also offer a pick-up and delivery service.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
As you may already know, the market is undergoing significant changes. Electrification is gradually taking over the market, but fossil fuel cars remain as popular as hybrid cars. All our brands are continuing to develop, and we are keeping a close eye on this to stay up to date with the latest innovations. What we do know for sure is that we will always remain the family business we have been until now.
Max, Jurgen and Els’ eldest son, joined the company last year and is being deployed in a multifunctional role so that he can get to know the business inside out. Lex, their youngest son, who is currently 17, is eager to start working in the garage, but first has to finish school. As you can see, our future is secure!
